Say what? This American fast-food chain is the most popular

Confession time: I really love America. Now, that’s not exactly a shocking revelation, but I genuinely mean it when I say that I absolutely love visiting fast-food chains there. Even if it’s McDonald’s, which you can find here too. I mean, don’t you want to know whether the Big Mac tastes the same there as it does here? But especially the fast-food chains we don’t have here are the ones I want to try. So there I was, as happy as a child in a candy store, at the Shake Shack in New York. Still on my list: Five Guys, which is now also in the Netherlands but which I haven’t visited yet, and In-N-Out. And… Chick-fil-A.

Because apparently I really, truly need to experience that last one. According to an American opinion poll, it came out on top as the most popular fast-food chain. And with that, Chick-fil-A, which has fewer than 2,700 locations across America, leaves companies such as McDonald’s and Burger King far behind.
And the winner is…
What’s more, in a general poll of the most popular brands, Chick-fil-A also came in fourth place. Excusez-moi? Only Patagonia, Moderna and Honda ranked higher as brands. That’s quite something for a fast-food chain. In that same list, Mickey D’s came in at number 73 and Burger King at 84. Quite a difference, huh? Especially when you consider that McDonald’s has five times as many locations across America (Burger King has almost three times as many locations as Chick-fil-A).
In-N-Out also very popular
And those In-N-Out burgers I mentioned earlier? They came in second place. And they only have 358 locations in the United States. Is this the Rise of the Small Fast-Food Chains? I’m all for it. But, uh… could they also open a location in the Netherlands? ASAP, if possible?
