Scheveningen gains an Italian hotspot: Gastrovino La Liguria is a shop, traiteur and restaurant all in one

Good news for everyone who, like me, is crazy about Italian cuisine and wines: today, the second location of Gastrovino La Liguria opened in increasingly vibrant Scheveningen. This shop, traiteur and restaurant all in one is a little slice of heaven on earth.

With a successful first La Liguria location (with that playful wine drive-thru!), it was of course only a matter of time. Still, opening a hospitality business during the biggest crisis the hospitality industry has ever experienced is something you only do if you really know what you’re doing. With ‘Gastrovino La Liguria’, entrepreneur Damiano Piacenza believes he has such a rock-solid concept that today, December 3, he is opening the doors of a brand-new shop, traiteur and restaurant all in one. Although the restaurant cannot open just yet, you can already come here for all kinds of delicious Italian treats to enjoy at home. An extra bonus: they also deliver to your home.

Slow Food products

As the first in the Netherlands, this location also has a so-called PaStation: a pasta machine that produces the most delicious lasagne sheets, tagliatelle, ravioli and tortellini. Fresh fish from the harbor, meat and vegetables are prepared on the grill. You can imagine: when you enter this charming historic sluice keeper’s house, your mouth starts watering immediately. In the shop, also known as the Mercato, you’ll find a wide selection of Italian delicacies and exclusive wines, including many Slow Food products. Simply put: pure, clean, honest food & drink, produced with respect for nature and tradition.

And conveniently, sommeliers are on hand in the shops to help you choose your wine. Besides primarily Italian products, you’ll also find Dutch cheeses and other local products, such as Jacobus Toet Caviar and Royal Class Salmon.

Wine on tap

Finally, there’s another striking eyecatcher: the wine tap. It is filled with wines that you can pour by the tasting measure (25 ml), half glass (75 ml) or full glass (150 ml) using a special wine pass. You can buy this wine pass on your first visit to the restaurant or the Mercato.
