You can easily spend the whole afternoon at this new wine bar and wine shop in one
If you love wine, I have good news. At the brand-new La Liguria by Gastrovino, a wine bar and shop in one, you’ll find more than 600 wines from all over the world to buy, drink in the wine bar, and you can enjoy delicious food there too (hello artisanal Italian delicacies!). And with the handy wine drive thru, you don’t have to carry anything to the car.
In Italy, it has been a tried-and-tested concept for years: a wine bar combined with a wine shop in one, and this kind of ‘blurring’ concept is also becoming increasingly popular in the Netherlands. Wine bar slash wine shop La Liguria has just opened its first location, in Leidschendam.
Lots from Italy
At Gastrovino La Liguria, you’ll find both luxurious and accessible wines, you can enjoy an extensive wine tasting, and the food is unbelievably good, because the menu is bursting with the most delicious delicacies. Co-founder Damiano Piacenza: “We have beautiful wines from all over the world on the menu. But there is a special connection with wines from Italy. Not only because my roots lie in this Southern European country, but especially because Italy is rich in more than a thousand grape varieties that form the basis of the best wines.” Together with the selection of luxurious delicacies – including salmon, truffles and caviar – from dozens of different countries and the traditional Italian products imported directly from Italy, this is, in my opinion, a real asset for every wine lover.
Slow food
Many Slow Food products are on the menu at La Liguria. Simply put: pure, clean, honest food & drink. Such as De San Marzano tomatoes (which are used on the pizzas, among other things), Gorgonzola D.O.P., sea salt from Cervia, and various Slow Food wineries.
Wine Drive Thru
The eye-catcher in the shop is the ‘Wine-closet’. This illuminated walk-in wine cooler measuring 20 square metres is filled to the brim with the most prestigious wines from all over the world. Found something you like? Then you don’t have to carry it yourself, because La Liguria has a real Wine Drive Thru, allowing you to collect your bottles by car at the back of the shop. While you wait in your car, La Liguria’s staff place the wines in your boot. Handy!
More good news: in autumn 2020, the second Gastrovino La Liguria location will open in the Sluiswachtershuis in increasingly lively Scheveningen.
