Sjeminee: everything is used up at the Big Beer Dinner

Attention beer lovers! Instock—you know, the one behind the zero-waste restaurants—is launching a brand-new beer and celebrating it with a grand beer dinner at—yes, yes—the equally brand-new ‘wine bar-dance club’ Chez Miné.

A beer dinner in a wine bar? Yes. It’s 2020, so that’s perfectly fine. Call it fusion 20.20. Anyway: it’s a party. And we love that.
Zero waste
Chez Miné is taking care of the music and venue: the Danzigerkade in Amsterdam-West, to be precise. Instock is handling the food and drinks: three courses with beer pairings. Instock wouldn’t be Instock if everything—the dishes and the beers—weren’t made from ingredients that would otherwise have no destination. Food for a better world—great, right?
New beer
This isn’t the first time Instock has brought a beer to market. In 2016 and 2017, they launched Pieper Bier and Bammetjes Bier, made from rescued potatoes and bread: the two most wasted products in the country. Naturally, the new beer follows in their footsteps, but what is the special ingredient? That will remain a secret until the dinner.
In the diary
The Big Beer Dinner takes place on Wednesday, 11 March 2020, at Chez Miné at Danzigerkade 8 in Amsterdam. You’re welcome from 6:00 p.m. The dinner starts at 7:00 p.m. The three-course dinner with beer pairing costs €35 per person. Would you like to join? Buy your ticket in advance via this link. Tip: don’t wait too long, as there’s room for only 100 people.
