Sleeping among the stars (literally) in this spacey space hotel

Martians at the windows
The space hotel, which will be called Voyager Station, is currently being developed by the Orbital Assembly Corporation and construction is scheduled to be completed in 2027. The first design images show a Ferris-wheel shape floating in space, with an outer ring connected to the centre by elevators. The Washington Post reports that 280 guests and 112 crew members can stay there, and all of them will first have to undergo space training.
Take a little stroll
Of course, it will also be ridiculously expensive and offer all the amenities and entertainment of a luxury resort; restaurants, cinemas and spas, as well as a spacewalk for guests who feel like exploring the surroundings…
Space Race
Incidentally, Voyager Station claims it will be the first space hotel, but it already has competition from the company Axion Space, which says it will (also) start work on an intergalactic hotel this year. And just like that, a space race has been triggered! Let’s just hope they at least install a Margarita hotline…
