Snack like a Carnival Prince with the Alaaf Staaf

Carnavalsnacks

We already had the knetterdel, but Nicole Oirbans of Eetwinkel Bebo is happy to expand the Carnival snack range with the Alaaf Staaf and Vastelaovend fries.

If you thought a frikandel couldn’t be processed any more than it already was, think again. Behold: the green, yellow and red Alaaf Staaf. A frikandel soaked in food colouring.

If we are to believe Nicole, you can’t taste any difference. The flavour stays the same; the only difference is that your old familiar frikandel has been dressed in a cheerful Limburg Carnival outfit.

Those who really want to snack in full style will of course also order a portion of roeëd, gael and greune Vasteloavend fries. “They bake up nice and crispy,” says Nicole.

Or, to put it in Limburgish: lek-vinger-lek-doum! (loosely translated: ‘Absolutely delicious!’)
