Snackspert is thrilled: a stuffed bara with curried chicken is simply pumping

Bara van Sardjoe’s

Eke Bosman, better known as Instagram phenomenon @snackspert, ate his first frikandel as a baby, hates vlammetjes, has already devoured at least 1,500 burgers in his life, suspects there is more mayonnaise in his body than blood, and shares his best and worst snack reviews on FavorFlav. This week, two delicious sandwiches and a snack that Snackspert will never buy again are on the menu.

Bara sandwich from Sardjoe’s, Amsterdam

I really need to eat bara more often in my life. A well-stuffed bara is so much better than a kebab sandwich that is far too dry and only tasty with garlic sauce; I could much more easily eat a bara like this at 2:52 a.m. And you can still kiss someone afterwards without stinking from your mouth. Win-win. For example, get one at Sardjoe’s in Amsterdam East, on Dapperplein. A stuffed bara with curried chicken is simply pumping. And it looks pumping too, as if it were an F1 car. You probably don’t understand what I mean, and neither do I, but hey, that also has to do with my happiness. One small downside: I generally find the bara dough a tiny bit dry—flavorful, but in my opinion it could really be a little more moist. Like a brioche bun baked along with it, you know? But that’s the only thing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cheddar sticks from Lidl

Hey, do you have a hangover today and want to feel even worse? No problem, then head to Lidl and get these cheddar sticks with dark beer. This is soooooo disgusting! Because yes, the cheddar is fine, but then this huge dark beer flavor comes along… and it tastes exactly like a beer that cheddar has been put into. And dissolved. It also made me a little nauseous (I was sober when testing them); I honestly think going to TROS Muziekfeest op het Plein would be more fun than putting another one of these sticks in my mouth. And no, not a single sauce can save them. If I have to mention something positive: throwing the packaging in the trash gives you just as blissful a feeling as watching an average episode of Ik Vertrek. ⭐️

Grilletje baguette from Kaashoek, Zandvoort

The peace has returned to Zandvoort, so it’s time to share a delicious tip with you. You can’t see it very clearly, apologies, but this is the Grilletje baguette you can get at Kaashoek in the seaside resort. A baguette with grilled sausage, melted cheese, joppie sauce, pickle, and lettuce. Pure enjoyment. The sandwich is nice and warm, a little soft (it could have been softer; you want to cuddle a sandwich like this in your mouth, not bite it), and thanks in part to the combination of melted cheese and joppie sauce, it’s an absolute delight. A little less lettuce would have been fine too, but fortunately that’s a matter of taking some out. Zandvoort should be happy to have a place like this. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
