These meatballs taste so good you’ll want more, and they’re cooked in a spicy-sweet (but not too sweet) sauce that transforms them from zero to hero in just a few minutes.

How to make the spicy meatballs

  • Mix the minced meat, garlic, gochujang, spring onion, ginger and sesame oil together in a bowl.
  • Take a tablespoon of the meat mixture at a time and roll it into balls.
  • Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
  • Pour in the vegetable oil and cook the meatballs for 5 minutes, or until browned all over.
  • Add the sticky chili sauce and cook for 5 minutes; stir occasionally so the meatballs become coated in the sauce.
  • Serve the meatballs with rice, kimchi and cucumber, and garnish with chili and sesame seeds.

How to make the sticky chili sauce

  • Mix the soy sauce, honey, rice wine vinegar, gochujang, ginger and garlic together in a small bowl and set aside.

Tip: Gochujang can be found in Asian supermarkets and online. You can also use a mild chili paste.
