Surprise your mother with a fried chicken bouquet for Mother’s Day

Are you, or is your mother, someone who basically eats nothing but fried chicken? In the latter case, I’d start dropping some very obvious hints right now and leave this article open on every screen in the house. In the former case: tadaaa, here’s your gift tip for Sunday.

Because if you think peonies won’t make your mother happy enough (they would make me happy, this is my hint) and you really want something completely different in the poultry-and-frying direction, take inspiration from what Kentucky Fried Chicken is rolling out in America:
A bunch of golden chicken pieces
A bouquet made with their fried chicken. They’re doing it in collaboration with a flower delivery company, and no, they’re not going to cross the ocean to deliver a chicken bouquet in our little frog country, but… of course, you can also make one yourself.

Fried chicken heaven
By the way, you can find increasingly better fried chicken these days. If you’re in the capital, be sure to check out these fried chicken hotspots in Amsterdam. Otherwise, we have plenty of tips for the best fried chicken here, or advice on how to make crispy chicken without a deep fryer.
Time to get crafty
So, once you have those pieces of chicken beautifully crisp in front of you, you’ll need to work quickly, of course. Long, sturdy wooden skewers, a large sheet of baking paper, a little decoration (it might be a good idea to check that the flowers aren’t poisonous—and otherwise just stuff it full of rosemary sprigs) – you know what, take a look at this charcuterie bouquet as an example. Bet mothers will be very surprised, at the very least? Good luck!
