Beyond the Lousy Little Bunch of Supermarket Roses: A Pickle Bouquet

You already knew that you can get endlessly creative with pickles and that the love for them can run deep. But if you’d like to surprise someone with a funny bouquet another time, here are a few more incredible tips!

For one bouquet, you open a jar of pickles, and for the other, you hurry to Maccie, because what do a whole lot of people apparently get really excited about? The kind of thing that makes them say, “Thank you, you’re the sweetest person in the world, and you also know exactly what to bring to make me deliriously happy, and you know my taste so well”? This.
Behold the little bouquet for your favourite pickle:
Take a few firm pickle quarters, some other fun pickled vegetables such as sliced pickled carrots, cauliflower florets and, for a bit of kick, some mild peppers, a few good sprigs of dill or chervil and other greenery, and long wooden skewers, and start threading. Wrap it in a piece of baking paper, put it in a beautiful glass and you’re done. Grillo’s Pickles from Boston set the shining example we see above, and then people really ran with it:

Want to surprise someone who gets happier from anything au friture?
You don’t shy away from that either: you dash to the nearest MacDonald’s, pick up a Kippie12 (or 24 if you’re really feeling it), get those same wooden skewers out, thread away again and tadaaa: eternal love (perhaps) guaranteed!

So, what do you think – will this keep you going for a while when it comes to Valentine’s inspiration?
