Kwekkeboom wondered the same thing. The result: the newest beef stew croquettes, which have recently appeared on supermarket shelves. Is this the snack that will warm us up this winter?
Actually, the idea of making beef stew croquettes isn’t nearly as random as you might think. Beef stew and fries are an incredible combination, as everyone knows. Why wouldn’t this work in a croquette? You even get everything your heart desires: a plate of fries, beef stew, and a croquette. Kwekkeboom is the obvious producer willing to experiment with this idea. They have already brought the oyster mushroom bitterballen, cauliflower nuggets, and grilled chicken bitterballen to market.
Kwekkeboom’s crown jewel: the Old Amsterdam bitterballen

Snackspert is clear: this is yet another very good snack. ‘These are also just really good. A pleasantly pronounced clove flavor, and a nice texture too—although I would have preferred it to be a little creamier, but there really isn’t much to criticize. Well done once again,’ says the snack king of the Netherlands. The beef stew flavor even reminds him of the beef stew he eats in the south of the country. As a true Brabander, I know: that’s a compliment. Although he says he’s ‘not going to write a letter to the newspaper now to announce that there’s a new croquette and that it’s going to change the world’, Kwekkeboom can once again pat itself on the back for a good new product.
