The air fryer has already conquered quite a few kitchens (and hearts), but nowadays you can take it one step further. By bringing home an air fryer with two baskets. Ideal if you want to prepare fries and snacks at the same time without them getting in each other’s way. But which of these dual air fryers actually performs best? Radar tested five popular models to find out.

Dual air fryer models

The air fryer test included five models, ranging in price from 112 to 179 euros. These were the following appliances:

  • Inventum GF800HLD – price 112 euros – capacity 8 litres – power 1700 watts
  • Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer AF400EU – price 169 euros – capacity 9.5 litres – power 2470 watts
  • Philips 3000 Series Dual Basket Airfryer NA3510/90 – price 179 euros – capacity 9 litres – power 2750 watts
  • Princess 182074 Dual Air Fryer – price 119.99 euros – capacity 8 litres – power 2400 watts
  • Tefal Easy Fry & Grill Dual EY905D – price 175.32 euros – capacity 8.3 litres – power 2700 watts

Test in three rounds

The test panel, which included chef Julius Jaspers, ‘Super Dushi Chef’ Jurino Ignacio and the Friture Zwerts family, got to work in three rounds, namely:

  1. A fries and snacks round: How crispy do fries and bamischijven become when prepared at the same time?
  2. A culinary round: How do the different air fryers perform when preparing potatoes, shrimp and vegetables?
  3. A baking round: How well do these appliances work for pastries and sweets?

In a fresh outdoor setup – entirely in the style of Heel Holland Bakt – each air fryer was given the same temperature and baking time, so their performance could be compared fairly.

The big winner

With a score of 4 stars, the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone claimed first place. This model particularly excelled in the first round, in which bamischijven and fries were tested. The fries came out reasonably crispy and evenly cooked, and the Ninja also impressed in the culinary round. The potatoes were prepared excellently, making this air fryer a deserving winner.
