It all started with a woman on TikTok who dug up a 2013 article. It states that taste buds aren’t only located on your tongue, but also around the male genital area—namely, on the testicles. According to the article, soy sauce is especially good for “tasting.” Logically, men were curious, and thanks to the worldwide web, this is being filmed so we can all enjoy it. To give this soap opera one more plot twist, a handsome doctor came around the corner and decided to weigh in. Surprise surprise, you can’t actually taste food through the pores on your balls. A future of eating chocolate cake without gaining weight isn’t in the cards for men (yet). According to doctor McBally, it’s true that there are taste buds there, but that doesn’t mean this can literally be converted into taste sensations in your mouth. There goes another illusion.
