Most of the chocolate festival at the Beurs van Berlage is aimed at professionals, with conferences and seminars on 20, 21 and 22 February. At the weekend, the festivities kick off for consumers: that means you.

Workshops

During the festival, there are all kinds of workshops, including one on how to make chocolate yourself. You’ll learn everything about how chocolate is made and its sustainability. “People are increasingly interested in knowing where the cocoa in their favourite chocolate bar comes from. Chocoa brings the chain and the makers closer,” says organiser Caroline Lubbers.

Tasting

A chocolate festival wouldn’t be a chocolate festival if there weren’t plenty of things to taste, and thankfully that has been taken care of too. For example, join the jury of the Hot Chocolate Awards and decide what the best hot chocolate in the world is. None other than Janny van der Heijden will present the coveted prize on Sunday afternoon. And of course, there are more than enough chocolate bars to taste as well.

For more information, visit the festival’s website, where you can also get your tickets.
