Thirsty tales

The TikTok Trend: Dill Pickle (but whether we should want to try it…)

Dill Pickle

Pickles: you hate them or you love them. Honestly, apart from a number of pregnant women who had this sweet-and-sour snack as a massive craving and my colleague Delilah, I don’t know that many people who are absolutely crazy about them. As an extra with nasi: fine. But opening a jar of pickles to satisfy your cravings? Most people aren’t really into that.

Dill Pickle: a TikTok craze

Are you someone who absolutely loves pickles as a snack? Then there’s something new that might be right up your alley: the Dill Pickle. What is it? A gigantic, extra-thick pickle in a sort of Capri Sun pouch with lots of pickle juice (pickle juice in a can is already out of fashion again). Officially, you eat the pickle first and then drink the juice, but feel free to skip step 2. In any case, it’s a major craze on TikTok—with reactions ranging from feeling like throwing up to declarations of love.

Choose your favorite flavor

For those who don’t find the taste of pickle alone enough: you can buy Dill Pickle in several flavor variations. For example, there’s a garlic version, a hot & spicy pickle and an extra-sour version. Want to try one? You can buy them on Amazon. One thing I know for sure: this TikTok trend is absolutely not for me.
