These 21 hospital meals certainly won’t help you get better
At the very least, you’d expect a hospital meal to be healthy food that ticks all the boxes of the Wheel of Five. That it isn’t a Michelin-star-worthy meal, fine, but it should at least be somewhat edible, even when you’re cooking for a lot of people. These photos from hospitals show that even edible isn’t always achievable there. Sad!
It’s nice that you aren’t served this kind of misery in the Netherlands. Several hospitals are working together to improve meals for patients. Definitely not an unnecessary luxury, when you know that people who eat healthily recover faster. What’s more, the soggy overcooked green beans and dry potatoes all end up in the bin, which is wasteful too.

Bring food with you!
Healthy meals are a world away from your hospital bed in many hospitals, judging by these photos. Many people ask visitors to bring some extra food: fruit, crackers and instant broth. Anything is better than the misery provided by the hospital.
