These 5 brilliant M&M’S flavors should be available in the Netherlands too

M&M’S… I just can’t stop eating them. No matter how big the bag, I finish it in no time. Fun fact: the festive chocolate candy, which hit the market in 1941, was mainly given to American soldiers. Thanks to the sugar coating, they could take chocolate with them without it melting. These days, they come in all kinds of varieties and flavors — and some of these flavors are ones we would really love to see in the Netherlands too!

When I was on vacation in New York, a whole chocolate world opened up for me. There are an absolutely bizarre number of flavors here that we don’t know in the Netherlands. At the M&M’s store, you can fill a bag yourself with all kinds of flavors mixed together. I spent far too much money here, but it was completely worth it. Not all the flavors are a loss, but there are a few I genuinely can’t live without anymore. Whenever someone is going to the US, I always ask them to bring a few bags of M&M’S home for me. These are my five favorite flavors:
1. M&M’s Peanut Butter

By far number one! You can wake me up for anything containing peanut butter, and these M&M’S are absolutely delicious. I simply throw them into my muesli or bake them into cookies; they make everything taste better. Fortunately, you can occasionally find this flavor (in mini packages) at Jumbo or American candy stores. If you want to have a reasonably sized package delivered, unfortunately you’ll have to pay an arm and a leg.
2. M&M’s Pretzel

Pretzel and chocolate is a combination that simply can’t go wrong. Tip: combine it in your mouth with the peanut butter variety and you’ve got the best combination ever — an M&M’s-gasm of epic proportions.
3. M&M’s Almond
This doesn’t immediately sound like an exciting flavor. Yet almond instead of peanut really makes a world of difference. The almond is simply so much tastier. You can also buy this flavor (at least at the M&M’S store in New York) in milk or dark chocolate. Delicious!

4. M&M’s Mint
This flavor isn’t for everyone. But if classic After Eight chocolate is also a nostalgic childhood favorite for you, this flavor bears a suspiciously strong resemblance to it.

5. M&M’s Crunchy cookie
This is simply exactly as delicious as you think it is. Don’t hesitate — just throw it straight into your suitcase!
