These are the top 10 Rueda Summer Hotspots

What are the best places to enjoy a good glass of chilled Rueda this summer? The winning Rueda hotspots in a row.

More than forty restaurants, bars and terraces were nominated for the election My Favourite Rueda Summer Hotspots. For two weeks, wine lovers could vote for their favourite Rueda hotspot. Each one is a place that takes wine seriously and where Rueda has a prominent place on the wine list.
The great diversity of nominated establishments reflects the versatility that Rueda stands for. The character of this Spanish wine, a combination of an alluring aroma and a refreshing finish, makes these wines from the region north of Madrid highly versatile: from rich fish dishes and pasta to salads and sushi.
At Lola in Rotterdam, FavorFlav editor-in-chief Marcus Polman announced the ten winners.

The top 10*
Pikoteo, Amsterdam
A modern tapas bar. Spanish, of course, but different. The chef also draws inspiration from Asian street food.
Buurman en Buurman, Amsterdam
A charming neighbourhood restaurant and food shop in Bos en Lommer, run by neighbours Paul and Coen. The dishes on the small menu are spot-on. And the Ruedas always pair perfectly with them.
Ku Kitchen, Amsterdam
Japanese sushi bar with an extensive selection of sake. But Rueda Verdejo also has a prominent place on the menu. And it pairs perfectly with the refined Japanese dishes served at this lovely establishment.
Café Verward, Rotterdam
Hospitality and quality are central here. It is no coincidence that many regulars and loyal visitors voted enthusiastically for this café.
Lola, Rotterdam
Lola’s kitchen is inspired by Spain and is housed in a uniquely designed bar. Every evening it is packed until the late hours. At Lola, you can enjoy wine and much more.
Bouzy, The Hague
In one of The Hague’s nicest little streets, on the edge of the city centre. Wine lovers are in exactly the right place here. A fine and extensive wine list.
Dudok, The Hague
A true city brasserie that embraces the city’s residents, a genuinely lively meeting place. For coffee, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, drinks or dinner. And, of course, for the tastiest wines.
De Zwarte Vosch, Utrecht
A trendy, welcoming bar. With freshly prepared pintxos and other Spanish delicacies. The sunny terrace makes this a true Rueda Summer Hotspot.
Wijnbar en Bistro Zies, Utrecht
A boutique hotel, bistro and wine bar. Dishes come from the Spanish charcoal oven. The sommelier has focused on wines from Spain, Italy and Portugal. With the tastiest Ruedas taking centre stage.
Daens, Utrecht
Shoppers and wineaholics, take note. You will find this hotspot in Utrecht’s former fire station. A contemporary concept where you can shop and then enjoy a drink at the bar with a glass of Rueda Verdejo. The ultimate combination of wine and shopping.
