This club has been named the worst in Europe
It wasn’t Bubbels, Joop’s Party or Cooldown… Quite rightly, of course, because every Amsterdammer knows that they’re secretly actually great fun. No, you’ll find the worst club in Europe in England, and believe me: every bad club you’ve ever been to pales in comparison.
The dubious honour goes to Klute in Durham, England. For years, they held second place on this list, but the number-one club — the former worst club in Europe — burned down completely, so they’re taking over the top spot. Lucky them.
‘Quids In Every Tuesday’
Klute is a typical student club where you can get drinks for a pound and a half every Tuesday, and all shots are then one pound. Honestly: so far I’m not seeing any downsides. Okay, according to Urban Dictionary, Klute is ‘the smallest sweatiest shit hole I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Now exclusively for students, the music in Klute is always cheese, the students are always hammered, and the walls are always dripping with sweat.’
A student from Durham told LAD Bible that she found out in the queue that Klute is the worst club in Europe, but ‘that didn’t stop her from going inside.’ Once inside, she immediately understood why it had been given the title and even called it ‘the worst club in the world, not just Europe.’
‘It’s really filthy in there,’ she continued, ‘although that never stopped me from coming back. The floors are so sticky that once the sole of my left shoe was pulled off.’
