Nobody wants lukewarm beer. This method is so fast that you can get an entire six-pack ice-cold within 10 minutes. All you need is a thermos flask, a drill, a bolt, a rubber band—and, of course, ice.

How it works

Drill a hole in the center of the thermos flask lid. Then screw the bolt onto the lid. Make sure you tighten it securely, otherwise your can may end up flying through the air. Now click the thermos lid onto a drill using the other end of the bolt. Stretch the rubber band over the top of the can and place it in a tub of ice. Then place the thermos lid over the can and turn on the drill so that the can spins around in the ice. Spinning in the ice helps conduct the heat, meaning your drink will be 15 degrees colder within 60 seconds.

For those who aren’t DIYers

Do you have two left hands or no drill at home? Then there’s always the chill-o-matic to do the work for you. This gadget actually works the same way as the technique described above. You just need to fill it with ice, put the can in, give it a spin and voilà: within 60 seconds, cold beer or soft drinks (that don’t foam) are ready to serve. Cheers!
