This Is the Best Almond Pastry in the Netherlands
Every year, the competition among Real Bakers, quality bakers affiliated with the Real Bakers Guild, is held to determine the title of ‘Best Almond Pastry in the Netherlands’. Bakers from all over the Netherlands submitted their pastries. For the tastiest almond pastry, head to Oudewater. John Treur bakes the tastiest and best almond pastry in the country here. More than 110 almond pastries had to be assessed by the professional jury, after which 16 contenders remained that scored exceptionally highly on finish, texture, colour of the almond paste and, most importantly, flavour! After blind-tasting the almond pastries and extensive jury deliberation, the top 3 was established.

You’ll find the best almond pastry at John Treur in Oudewater. Toet, the Real Baker from Apeldoorn, came second, and Lubbers, the Real Baker from Almelo, took third place.
