This is the fabulous line-up of guest bartenders at Bar The Tailor during Amsterdam Bar Show

Cocktail lovers are spoilt for choice in Amsterdam. Our capital is bursting with fantastic cocktail bars, with Bar The Tailor having topped the recommendations on TripAdvisor for years. There’s always a party here, but on 4, 5 and 6 September, it’s going to be extra special. That’s when 3 top-level guest bartenders will shake and stir the very best cocktails.

Bar The Tailor is the cocktail bar of ‘the Kras’, as Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam is often called. Fun fact: the bar’s name refers to A.W. Krasnapolsky, the founder of the coffee house that is now the famous Amsterdam hotel. Krasnapolsky was originally a tailor by profession. At Bar The Tailor, Mr Krasnapolsky’s craftsmanship is still celebrated to the fullest. Hints of the tailoring trade can be found throughout the bar, from a painting of a thimble to a measuring tape along the edge of the bar. That immediately tells you where the motto ‘The ultimate spot for tailor-made cocktails’ comes from.

Bar The Tailor’s programme
Those tailor-made cocktails will be created on 4, 5 and 6 September by 3 highly acclaimed guest bartenders. And believe me, if you’re even a little bit crazy about a good cocktail, you’ll want to be here. You’ll be drinking signature cocktails from guest bartenders with the very best shaking and stirring skills. Who can you expect?
4 September: Iain McPherson from Panda & Sons
On Monday 4 September, you can enjoy the cocktail-making skills of Iain McPherson. He owns cocktail bar Panda & Sons in Edinburgh, which has been one of the best cocktail bars in the world for years. Hoot The Redeemer and Nauticus—two bars in the same city—also belong to him. This year, he was named the 10th most influential bartender in the world. McPherson is also known as the inventor of the switching method: a method in which water in spirits is replaced with a non-alcoholic liquid, which is then exchanged for another non-alcoholic liquid. Wait, what? Yes, that’s what I thought too. At least on 4 September, you can ask him all about it. And—even better—taste everything he creates.
Iain McPherson will be shaking cocktails at Bar The Tailor on Monday 4 September from 20:00–00:00.
5 September: David Lebeer from Piu di Piu
Visiting Bar The Tailor on Tuesday evening 5 September? Then you can sip signature cocktails by David Lebeer. This renowned Flemish bartender recently opened cocktail bar Piu di Piu in Ghent. His cabinet—which undoubtedly is also full of cocktail stuff —contains several awards. For example, he won the Global Remy Martin BTA two years ago and made the best Sidebar cocktail in 2022. He was also a finalist in the World Bar 2018. He’s an established name in the cocktail world, so on Tuesday the 5th you can get to know him and his cocktails.
David Lebeer will be shaking cocktails at Bar The Tailor on Tuesday 5 September from 20:00–00:00.
6 September: Alexandros Tselepis and Dimitros Roussos from Bar in Front of the Bar
Just reading their names transports you to a sunny Greek island, where you gaze out over the azure sea with a cocktail in your hand. These Greek cocktail gods are behind the bar at Bar in Front of the Bar (behind the bar of… well). Alexandros owns this cocktail bar in Athens. Although its doors haven’t been open for all that long, Bar in Front of the Bar is already considered one of the best cocktail bars in the Greek capital. You can enjoy cocktails from a daily changing menu, made with unique ingredients. Fortunately, you don’t have to book a ticket to Greece if you want to taste Alex and Dimitros’s cocktails. Just come to Bar The Tailor on Wednesday evening 6 September. Success guaranteed!
Alexandros Tselepis and Dimitros Roussos will be at Bar The Tailor on Wednesday 6 September from 20:00–00:00.
