Bartenders: these are the most important cocktail trends for 2023

Last year saw quite a few trends that, as far as we’re concerned, can stay in 2022, but we can’t get enough of Amazing Oriental everywhere, TikTok recipes and tapioca prawn crackers. Just like cocktails. Whether you shake them at home or drink them at your favorite cocktail bar: according to bartenders, we’ll definitely be seeing these cocktail trends again in the coming year.

Negroni Sbagliato
The Negroni is one of the cocktails that has been making a comeback for a while now. Time for the next step: the Negroni Sbagliato. Instead of gin, the Sbagliato uses prosecco (or Lambrusco), which means that this version is immediately a little lighter than the classic.
Sours
Sours will also be a major hit again this year. From a Whiskey Sour to a Pisco Sour and everything in between: you’ll undoubtedly find them on the cocktail menu.
An ode to the ‘Tinis’
Can’t (still) get enough of Espresso Martinis and Pornstar Martinis? Then you can rejoice again this year, because the ‘Tinis will continue to shine at the bar. They’re hugely popular, and judging by the current outlook, that won’t change anytime soon.
Two-spirit cocktails
The days when a cocktail could only be called a cocktail if it contained at least three ingredients are over. Because with two ingredients, you can also serve the most delicious cocktails, in the right glass. New examples include the Ferrari, made with equal parts Fernet Branca (an Italian bitter) and Campari.
Salt
Salt is also set to make a comeback. And not just on the rim of the glass, but in the cocktail too. Of course, we don’t mean adding a spoonful of salt, but rather a splash of olive brine, as in a Dirty Martini.
Alcohol-free
It’s been going on for a while, but alcohol-free cocktails are continuing to be popular. The number of distillers offering a 0.0 version is already substantial and will continue to grow this year. And an alcohol-free Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini is damn delicious.
