This is THE snack of the moment. A snack you MUST eat this year

Eke Bosman, better known as Instagram phenomenon @snackspert, ate his first frikandel as a baby, hates vlammetjes, has devoured at least 1,500 burgers in his life, suspects that his body contains more mayonnaise than blood, and shares his best and worst snack reviews on FavorFlav. This week, Snackspert discovered THE snack of the moment that you have to try if you’re a snack lover.

Deep-fried oyster mushroom bao bun from Nobu, Amsterdam

Could this be THE snack of the moment? A snack you MUST eat this year, because otherwise I’m not angry, just disappointed? Maybe. Sometimes a review simply can’t wait; sometimes you know immediately after eating it: this review needs to go online as soon as possible, because the sooner more people can visit this place, the better. Nobu in Amsterdam, a little spot that used to be a pop-up but now finally has its own location on Herenstraat in the center of our capital, is the new must-visit hotspot. No joke. And then, especially nice for all the vegetarians among us, there’s the deep-fried oyster mushroom bao bun in particular. Holy moly. You know those steamed buns, right? But deep-fried: absolutely fantastic. So soft, so sweet, and combined with an excellent piece of oyster mushroom. But what really finishes it off are the various little touches that ensure it isn’t merely complete—no, it’s MORE than complete. A spicy honey-butter sauce, with some sriracha for a sharp kick, mayo for the creamy element, and then a pickle for acidity, while you can decide how spicy you want it with the chili oil. Don’t worry, they’ll ask you. Well, then you’ve simply got a perfect bun. Yes, the price is definitely high, but this is something special, people, my goodness. Already looking forward to trying their other buns. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
