This Is the Tastiest Meatball of 2022
Every year, it is awarded: the prize for the Tastiest Meatball. The kind of meatball you can eat straight out of hand, on a sandwich or with your mashed potatoes. 10 finalists competed for the honor, and the expert jury, which judged the meatballs on taste, aroma, color, appearance and composition, has reached its verdict: Keurslager Jongmans wins the title of Tastiest Meatball 2022.
The winner of the Tastiest Meatball 2022 was announced at the Slavakto butchers’ trade fair. Keurslager Jongmans’ artisanal meatballs came out on top in the competition organized by the Royal Dutch Butchers’ trade association:
“The winning meatball has an authentic, artisanal appearance and is beautifully round. The meatball has the right balance of ingredients, allowing the flavor to come through nicely. It has a satisfying bite and has been technically finished to perfection. An impressive display of craftsmanship!” said the jury.

Jeanne-Pierre Jongmans is the third generation at the butcher shop founded by his grandfather in 1934. Jean-Pierre has been working at the chopping block since 1995 and makes top-quality meatballs; in 2019, he also won the Tastiest Meatball award, in 2018 he came third, and last year they made the top 10.
This year, second place went to Keurslager De Jong from Gilze, while Keurslager Ron de Kwant from Hank received third place: a Brabant affair, in other words, in the rankings for the Tastiest Meatball 2022.
