This man served tacos to his friends with meat from his own foot
Crunchy tacos scampi cocktail style or tacos with crispy carnitas, a dollop of sour cream, guacamole and some delicious melted cheese; which one would you go for? Tough choice, we know. But a taco filled with pieces of human meat?! NO THANKS.
Wait a minute, human meat? On a taco? Waaaaat? Ethically speaking, this is quite a serious matter, but Reddit user IncrediblyShinyShart (what a name) recently shared his story about how he served his friends a taco containing meat from his own foot.
From amputated foot to taco
In an interview with Vice, he says it all started with an accident in which he was hit by a car while riding his bike and ended up deep in the bushes along the road. His foot was completely crushed. He could no longer walk on it. When the doctor asked him whether he wanted to have his foot amputated, he had only one question: ‘Can I keep my foot then?’
He could. Three weeks after the accident, the storyteller, who prefers to remain anonymous, invited 10 of his best friends to brunch, with fajita tacos made from his amputated foot as the dish of the day. Shiny’s cannibalistic adventure was even legal in America at the time, because he had informed his friends beforehand that they would be eating human meat.
And… what does it taste like?
One of his friends is a chef. He was given the honor of preparing the foot to perfection. Marinated in onion, pepper, salt and lime juice, he fried the piece of meat until crispy in a pan and served it in a tortilla with tomatillo sauce. And… what did it taste like? Mostly like game meat such as venison. Of course, it was somewhat different, but it was noticeably beefy, except for the muscle, which was chewy. It was mainly the thought of eating human meat that some people struggled with. One of his friends couldn’t swallow it and spat the foot meat out into a napkin.
