This pistachio ice cream cookie is one to know (and taste!)
For years, we here at the FavorFlav editorial team have collectively been unable to resist the Italian Liuk ice cream, but now there’s a competitor that’s seriously making an impression. Before we talk about that ice cream cookie, first a tribute to our first love: the Gruvi Pistacchio Sincero. Think: a Magnum, but more Italian than a Vespa on the Amalfi Coast. Vanilla ice cream with a swirl of creamy pistachio cream, covered in a thin layer of pistachio studded with crunchy pistachios and cookie crumbs. Crunchy, creamy, and that cookie edge is reminiscent of Oreo, but with sunshine on your face and sand between your toes.

From beach bar to supermarket
Sammontana isn’t a newcomer, by the way: the brand has been around for more than 70 years and is just as firmly established in Italy as espresso after dinner. You may know it from the iconic logo featuring that cheerful smiling ice cream, which is proudly displayed in virtually every beach bar from Rimini to Palermo.
