It will come as no surprise that we love food films. The only downside is that they always make you hungry. Fortunately, there is now a solution. During Cinema Culinair, you watch your favorite culinary film and are served the same food as the film’s characters.
Yes, you heard that right: the food is served during the film. Whereas before you would always sit there salivating while watching your favorite film, that is no longer necessary. For example, you get the pasta puttanesca from Estômago and the chocolate cake from Julie & Julia. Because the timing is based on the film, you might start with dessert and end with breakfast. Would you also be served Julie’s burnt boeuf bourguignon?
The organizers of Cinema Culinair take the timing seriously. You may only start eating when they tell you to, so that you eat at exactly the same moment as in the film. This makes the film an even more immersive experience. At the moment, only Estômago and Julie & Julia are showing, but in the past, Chef – with the ultimate grilled cheese – and Chocolat have also featured.
