Tip: learn quarantine cooking with hilarious Amy Schumer
Now that restaurants, museums and cinemas have reopened, there’s already much more to do, but that doesn’t mean there’s no time left for new cooking series. And boy, is there a great one coming up.
Just when you thought you’d exhausted all of Videoland, Netflix and YouTube’s food series/documentaries, TLC is coming out with a new TV show: Amy Schumer Learns To Cook.
The comedian claims she’s a better eater than chef. And wouldn’t you know it, her husband, Chris Fischer, happens to be a chef. Convenient! So the two thought: let’s make a TV show during this quarantine in which Chris teaches Amy how to cook.
Easy does it
So they asked their nanny to film, set up a few extra cameras around their house and got to work. From ‘not so old fashioned old fashioned’ cocktails to poached eggs, chicken wings and cookie dough: all kinds of things pass in review, as long as they’re not too complicated, because hey: Amy still has to learn and poor Chris, she doesn’t make it easy for him, but all the more fun for us to watch.
Delightfully homespun
Everything is filmed at the couple’s home, partly by the nanny. Yes, really. They’re in quarantine too, after all. All in all, that naturally makes for a wonderfully homespun TV show. Exactly what you want when you flop onto the sofa and turn on the TV after a week of visits to restaurants, cafés, cinemas and museums (what a haaaard life we have).
