Top tip for chocolate lovers: chocolate costs next to nothing at Lindt’s factory outlet
Good news for every chocolate lover who wants to be Charlie in the chocolate factory: your dream can come true. Just across the German border, a true chocolate paradise is waiting for you. It’s the factory outlet of chocolate brand Lindt. That means lots and lots and LOTS of chocolate at rock-bottom prices.
Lindt often surprises chocolate lovers with delicious deals. A while ago, they opened a Chocolate Boutique in Amsterdam, and in Zurich, Switzerland, you can even find a shop with a gigantic chocolate fountain. You probably know Lindt from the large tubs of colorful chocolates, the golden chocolate bears and the white-and-black chocolate bar packaging.
Kilos of chocolate for next to nothing
At the Lindt Werksverkauf, the name of the factory hall, you’ll find the biggest collection of chocolate you’ve ever seen. The gigantic hall is filled from top to bottom with Lindt chocolate. These are products that don’t fully meet Lindt’s quality requirements. Usually, they have minor production flaws, such as a printing error on the packaging. Who cares if there’s a typo on the packaging, right?! Some of the deals are truly insane. For example, you can buy a pack of six chocolate bars for € 6, whereas they normally cost almost € 18. Crazy.
Gigantic bars, small chocolates, chocolate figures for every season of the year, tins filled with chocolate—and all in every flavor you can imagine. Yes, the pistachio chocolate bar has also been spotted (you know, the so-called Dubai bar). Rumor has it that people come here every year to stock up on a year’s supply of chocolate. We don’t judge. In fact, we think it’s a brilliant idea.
Lindt factory hall in a festive Christmas atmosphere
The Lindt Werksverkauf is open all year round. Still, now is the perfect time to visit the chocolate factory. The hall has been completely transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Plus, there’s extra Christmas chocolate available now. Think not only countless chocolate Santa Clauses, but also the chance to fill your own advent calendar. I repeat: you can fill your own advent calendar. Even Charlie could only dream of that in the chocolate factory.
Lindt’s factory hall is just across the German border, near Aachen. Keep in mind that it’s always busy here, even on an ordinary weekday morning. So you may have to park somewhere nearby. The Lindt factory is open Monday through Friday from 09:00–20:00 and on Saturday from 09:00–18:00. The factory is closed on Sunday.
