From the baba ganoush and turmeric hummus to the roast beef and cakes, at Vinnies in Amsterdam they’ve known what tastes really good for quite a few years now. And a lot of people have noticed, because there’s already a third location on Scheldestraat.

FavorFlav dropped by the newest addition for a tasting lunch. We like the décor. It’s just as easy to bring your lover as a group of friends. The interior is stylish, with lots of wood, but not excessively hip.

Middle Eastern

Many dishes (shakshuka, roasted aubergine with yoghurt dressing) remind us of Ottolenghi. They describe their cooking style as Middle Eastern. Lots of pomegranate seeds, coriander and herbs, then. Everything is fresh and the combinations are often surprising. What do you think of a salad with burrata, baby beets and fennel, for example? Or roast beef filled with lettuce and red chilli pepper, served with a kimchi dressing. Another nice bonus: they do serve wine at the location on Scheldestraat.
