Weekend tip: Sunday brunch at THE BUTCHER Social Club
Nothing beats an extensive brunch the day after the night before. Because how better to cure your hangover than with Eggs Benedict, burgers and Bloody Mary’s? THE BUTCHER Social Club understands this better than anyone and serves a selection of our favorite brunch dishes during their Social Brunch.
On warm summer days, every last Sunday of the month, the burger bar’s terrace is transformed into a wonderful Sunday hangover spot—even if you don’t have a hangover, it’s a lovely place to spend time.

THE BUTCHER Social Club, known for ‘the best bloody burgers in town’, has teamed up with Grey Goose vodka for their Social Brunch. During the brunch, they prepare the bloodiest Bloody Mary’s you have ever tasted.
Bloody Mary—named for its bloody appearance after the sixteenth-century, bloodthirsty British queen Mary the First—is one of the few savory cocktails, and certainly the most famous. In the United States, it is the number-one brunch cocktail number one.

Now, of course, I don’t want to encourage anyone to develop an alcohol problem—because let’s be honest… if you’re not careful, you’ll simply be nursing another hangover the next day—but the ‘best’ drink to kill your hangover with is vodka. Vodka contains relatively little methanol, after all. The nickname ‘hair of the dog’ is therefore attributed to the cocktail’s supposed healing properties, making a hangover (or dog) disappear like snow in the sun… Could that explain the Bloody Mary’s popularity at boozy brunch on Sundays?

THE BUTCHER Social Club’s brunch menu consists of two burgers (1 juicy beef burger and 1 falafel burger), two Eggs Benedict and pancakes with Mayple Syrup and summer fruit. And, of course, you also get 2 Bloody Mary’s. More than enough to roll straight into bed after brunch and wake up refreshed for the workweek.

To hold on to that wonderful weekend nightlife feeling a little longer, there is live DJ music during the Social Brunch. The Social Brunch costs 40 euros per person—a great deal, if you ask me.
