Would you try these bizarre Lay’s chip flavors?

You might think that after Lay’s Patatje Joppie chip flavor, we’d seen it all, or that flavors like Ketchup or Satésaus were weird enough. But nothing could be further from the truth, at least in Lay’s own fantasies…

Every now and then, Lay’s floats a trial balloon on Facebook: their chips in the wildest flavor hallucinations. Lay’s Skittles? Of course. Lay’s Rainbow Sprinkles Cookies or Apple Cider Donuts? Go wild! Lay’s does too, mentally speaking.

They then post a cleverly fabricated image on Facebook, briefly mention that it’s a fake flavor, and watch people go wild in the comments. “Perfect to serve if you want your guests to leave!”, or “Um, no, I’d sooner try mint-and-sardine flavor”.

But there are genuinely people who would be quite open to this! “I love chips, I love licorice, so yes, I’d definitely try it,” says one daredevil. And what do you think? We’re already a country where pretty much everyone grows up with licorice, and many people here appreciate the taste of sweet and salty licorice—much to the amazement of some tourists.
