That dining out has become quite expensive is probably something I don’t need to tell you anymore. But when you see the hard figures, it really is quite a shock. The website Business Insider looked into it, focusing specifically on Michelin-starred restaurants: how much more expensive have they become compared to last year?

Very expensive, as it turns out. The ‘smallest’ increase can be found at De Treeswijkhoeve in Waalre: they made their menu 2.94 percent more expensive (from 170 to 175 euros).

The biggest increase is at Flore in Amsterdam: there, the menu became a whopping 48 percent more expensive. Wooooow. Last year, you could still get a menu there for 125 euros; in 2023, you pay 185 euros for it. Ouch. Fortunately, prices haven’t gone up at every Michelin-starred restaurant: one restaurant has actually lowered its prices. That’s Ciel Bleu: last year, you could get menus there for 250 or 595 euros; now, that’s 215 euros and 595 euros. Still pretty pricey, if you ask me.
