YES! Vjeze Fur is getting a cooking show

We’re all collectively fans of Instagram hero Vjeze Fur here in the editorial office. His cooking videos are hi-la-rious, and now he’s bringing us the wonderful news that he’s getting a cooking show on TV too. What a celebration!

Before you round up all your friends to organise Temptation Island-style viewing parties: Whoa. Stop. Halt. It’s (unfortunately) a one-off cooking show. But what a show it is. The synopsis already promises a typically Freddyesque imagination:

Flipje and a forest nymph

In Lekker Fred in het land, Vjeze travels to Zeeland to gather ingredients for a dinner that star chef Edwin Vinke will prepare with him. Along the way, he encounters a number of strange characters. An unfortunate salmon with suicidal tendencies, a forest nymph who provides the herbs, and Flipje from the Betuwe who isn’t really keen to cooperate. Will Fred manage to get the local produce to the kitchen on time?

Or, as VPRO puts it: ‘Lekker Fred in het land is different from the cooking programmes currently on television.’ Right.

Food Top 100

Anyway, we can’t wait to see our FavorFlav Food Top 100 favourite (thanks to his Instagram, Freddy came out of nowhere and landed in 22nd place) shine on the small screen.
