You can now buy a flammkuchen donut at Albert Heijn

Today, you’ll read what this snack expert thinks of Albert Heijn’s new flammkuchen donut.
A little while ago, Snackspert urgently advised everyone to go to Lidl as soon as possible. That’s where a similar flammkuchen snack was on the shelves. Snackspert felt that it deserved a permanent place in the range because it was so incredibly delicious. Five stars were more than justified. Does the AH’s flammkuchen donut deserve the same?
Albert Heijn’s flammkuchen donut
Things are getting ridiculous: an Albert Heijn flammkuchen donut. A combination less likely than a musical collaboration between Snollebollekes and Anouk—no, but still, stranger things have happened in the world by now. The flammkuchen donut from the bakery section is also… actually quite tasty? The toppings could really have been much saltier and cheesier, but the Philadelphia-style cream cheese filling makes for a very pleasant mouthfeel. The dough is more like pizza dough than a sugary donut, but still, I didn’t expect this creation. So yes, it has the potential to become a permanent fixture, but then the cheese flavour and the bacon bits really need to be more vibrant. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ½
