Palate-cleansing and thirst-quenching
‘Fresh white fruit, gently apple-like, juicy bitterness, a squeeze of citrus, palate-cleansing and thirst-quenching. Unlike a number of other champagnes we tasted at this price level, it’s worth the money,’ says Harold Hamersma.
Champagne at a bargain price
The Granzamy family has been making champagne for generations from grapes grown along the Marne River, in the Vallée de Marne in France. The grapes they use are chardonnay and pinot meunier, producing a subtle and fruity sparkling wine. The designation ‘brut’ refers to the amount of sugar added to the champagne at the final stage (for a brut: <12g).
The champagne from Granzamy Père et Fils is temporarily available in HEMA’s online range from week 47 and, as mentioned, costs €22. Champagne at a bargain price indeed! Tip: order two at once and shipping is free.
