5x hotspots on the South Holland coast
South Holland is bursting with hip and delicious hotspots on the beach. The Scheveningen coast is known for its many restaurants and beach bars, but they are not the only ones. We have listed the best places for you.
De Zeemeeuw – Noordwijk
De Zeemeeuw was named the best beach pavilion in South Holland in 2014 and 2015, and they have maintained their quality. They have an incredibly extensive menu that makes it almost impossible to see the wood for the trees, but work your way through it. There are some delicious things on it. They have delicious vegetarian burgers, for example, and you can also enjoy a convivial afternoon tea here.
Branding Beach Club – Noordwijk
We love breakfast. And as it happens, Branding Beach in Noordwijk has an amazing breakfast menu. Score! Enjoy blueberry pancakes or eggs benedict. A great start to the day. For when you really want to unwind: they also serve the best detox juices here.
Het Strand – Katwijk
An appropriate name for a restaurant on the beach. This restaurant serves the tastiest lobster in four different ways. Cold with Zaanse mayonnaise, oven-baked with herb butter, armoricaine with cognac and cream, and lobster in their signature style. Not cheap, but very tasty.
De Waterreus – Scheveningen
De Waterreus simply has one of the most extensive and best fish menus around. Fish specialities include classic boiled mussels, fried North Sea sole and a delicious fish stew. They also offer a choice of twelve different gin and tonics—give us a minute.
Steam – Scheveningen
Steam in Scheveningen is a cool place to eat and is located near the Scheveningen pier. They serve juicy rotisserie chicken here, with a choice of marinades including mango and ginger and spicy piri piri. Also fun to do: a beer tasting with a choice of eight different beers.
