DistractaGone
The DistractaGone is a small box that can hold up to four smartphones. You decide how long it stays locked, and as soon as you press lock, it can no longer be opened. Want your phone back anyway? Then there’s nothing else to do but break open the box.
Cooking on phones
Ikea in Taiwan has come up with a clever way to get phones off the table: a hot plate that only heats up when there’s a phone underneath it. This plate is used for hot pot (fondue made with broth).
One phone isn’t enough to keep the plate warm for a long time, so more and more phones have to be placed underneath it in order to keep eating. According to the home furnishings giant, this shifts the focus back to what matters: spending time together and talking.
