These films are full of chocolate

Sunday, July 7 is a worldwide holiday celebrating chocolate. You could stuff yourself with chocolate to celebrate this momentous occasion, but there’s nothing special about that. Much more fun are these films with chocolate in the starring role.

Matilda
Okay, chocolate doesn’t play such a big role in Matilda, but who wouldn’t daydream about the idea of making all kinds of things float with your eyes? What’s the best thing about Matilda? The scene with the chocolate cake that has to be eaten all the way. Go Bruce!

Chocolat
When Vianne (Juliette Binoche) opens a chocolate shop in a small French village, the earth shakes beneath its foundations. Vianne doesn’t take the village’s social rules too seriously and, to make matters worse, a super-handsome Johnny Depp also comes along to disturb the peace. All the scenes where Vianne is baking, cooking or tasting make our mouths water.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Ah, Charlie. Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory is the subject of many dreams. Who didn’t want a chocolate river in their house when they were younger?

Forrest Gump
It’s not at all strange that something as small as chocolate gets its very own holiday. Forrest Gump put it into perspective earlier: “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” Chocolate is life.
