10 x deliciously guilty #2

We all have a soft spot for food or drinks that are ‘deliciously guilty’. Read part 1 here

Bapao bun

After half a minute in the microwave, this steamed bun filled with unrecognizable meat goes into your mouth with a generous dollop of chili sauce. The fact that the bun sticks to your palate is part of the experience.

White beans in tomato sauce

Because what’s better than dipping your casino white bread into warm white beans in tomato sauce? Or simply tipping an entire can over your fries?

Kinder chocolate

Even after childhood, Kinder’s chocolate (which isn’t actually real chocolate, either) is still a favorite. Bars, eggs—we don’t care.

Carrots and peas from a jar

FavorFlav’s Nora doesn’t like carrots, but the sweet, soft carrots from a can or jar go down just fine. Especially with a generous spoonful of apple sauce (also from a jar, of course).

Capri-Sonne

You know this has nothing to do with real fruit juice, but you don’t care. You’re perfectly happy with the wacky packaging and the little straw.

Cup-a-Soup

It doesn’t matter what time it is; a mug of salty powdered soup always hits the spot.

Meatball sandwich

This trucker favorite is fattier than fat, especially when you order it with mayonnaise. Or even better: with satay sauce.

Baguette with herb butter

During your student days, an oven-ready baguette with herb butter ended up in the oven almost every day, because it was the perfect snack or hangover lunch. And it only costs a few cents.

Ready-made pancakes

Making pancakes yourself is of course hardly any effort, but why bother when you can simply buy them at the store? The nice thing about the ready-made variety is that they stay so wonderfully soft.

Cheddar

Is it cheddar or processed cheese? Well, we don’t really care, because nothing boosts your mood like a slice of orange cheese on your burger or tuna melt.
