Thirsty tales

10 x the grossest drink requests made to bar staff, part 3

drankverzoeken 3

It’s always fun when hospitality workers spill the tea about the disgusting drink requests they occasionally get from their guests. But guess what? You lot also clearly love obscure combinations, if we’re to believe the, erm… remarkable suggestions under our Facebook post—and we do! We fished out the most revolting specimens. Burp!

Buttermilk? I’ll have petrol.

“Malibu with buttermilk.” I think anything with buttermilk is a very bad idea, and Malibu isn’t my favorite either. So this combination? I’ll have a glass of petrol instead.

Why milk all the time?!

“Boswandeling with milk.” Guys! Why do you put milk in your alcohol? I will never understand this.

Forest fruits

“I’ve also served strawberry tea with Boswandeling…” And did you happen to serve this to a forest ranger? Hot tea with the cream-like liqueur simply cannot be a good idea.

Fristi for life

“I miss the double Amaretto-Fristi on this list,” wrote one concerned reader. I find that very concerning myself. Do people actually drink this?

Golden combination

“Goldstrike + red wine.” Flashback to when I was 15 and drank Goldstrike for the first time (and the last) and spent the entire evening hanging over the toilet. Maybe I should have added red wine—would it have tasted good then? Think again…

Yellow porridge

“I once had someone at the bar who wanted to order advocaat with warm milk.” Huh? Had they run out of whipped cream? I can already picture it: all those little grannies stirring their yellow, lumpy, warm porridge.

Duvel with Fristi

“The most extreme thing I’ve ever experienced: Duvel with Fristi.” You’re right: guilty in the first degree.

Pink Panther

“Pink Panther! That’s a Boswandeling Flügel followed by 7Up. The fact that I ever drank it—brrr. It curdles like crazy.” Nice that you’re already admitting it yourself. I’m happy to learn from other people’s mistakes. People, don’t drink this!

Fizz

“Baileys with tonic.” So Baileys with fizz and a bitter note? Mwah, aside from the possible curdling, it doesn’t sound mega disgus… Wait, am I actually trying to justify it? This sounds gross!

7Up for over-18s.

“Boerenjongens 7Up!” Boerenjongens in vanilla ice cream. Delicious! But with 7Up? Well… Maybe it could work? I am curious about the proportions! One-third of a glass of Boerenjongens and two-thirds 7Up is probably perfectly fine!
