10x food that’s disgustingly delicious #12

driehoek

As much as we sometimes (or rather: quite often) like to make a big deal about food, we all have a soft spot for disgusting yet delicious shizzle. But it’s not just us—you guys can do it too! These are the favorite disgustingly delicious snacks of FavorFlav’s readers. Is your guilty pleasure among them?

Filet américain 2.0

With last week’s filet américain sandwich with sprinkles still fresh in our minds, these sandwiches with filet américain sound a lot more appealing. Apparently, mustard is a delicious topping everyone should try, and filet américain with pesto and filet américain with witch’s cheese are also a must-try! No sandwich at hand? No problem, thanks to this tip: warm pancakes with filet américain.

Peanut butter dip

At the editorial office, we have Steffi, who is addicted to peanut butter. Eating it straight from the jar, mixing it into her noodles, dipping a banana into the jar; everything is better with peanut butter. But dipping your peanut butter sandwich into tomato soup?! She hadn’t heard of that one yet. It doesn’t make her happy, though… She doesn’t like tomato soup.

Chicken corn dog sandwich

When I think of my secondary-school days, the chicken corn dog sandwich is still firmly etched in my memory. As soon as the bell rang, we’d race to the cafeteria to avoid the long queues. Everyone wanted the supposed to be – but not so—sandwich with crispy chicken corn dogs. Delicious!

Egg with sugar

Egg with sugar is apparently really a thing. An omelet with sugar is mentioned, as well as a white bread roll with egg and sugar by another reader. Interesting! I used to always eat Brinta with sugar, but this is also a breakfast with a sugar rush!

Salmon + cream cheese + ?!?!?!

In the category: it started so well, but then you finished the sentence… A salmon sandwich with cream cheese (great start) and banana (?!?!). No, this is not okay.

Bananas

“Banana and goat cheese is a little strange,” says one reader. Couldn’t agree more. And yet I’m also curious about this combination and how you make it. Is it on bread? In a pan? In a toasted sandwich?

Rice cake with peanut butter and fried egg

I feel this one! Kind of like nasi with a fried egg, minus the nasi. A rice cake with peanut butter is delicious anyway, and I can definitely see myself adding a runny egg yolk on top. Good tip!

Surf & Turf

Grilled sausage with surimi salad. A creamy surf & turf on a sandwich. I can definitely get behind this one!

Pre-packaged triangular sandwiches

My favorite thing about long car journeys? Besides eating endless amounts of AutoDrop candy? The pit stops at gas stations. For me, they’re another opportunity to buy one of those triangular sandwiches. You know, the kind that stays good for two weeks thanks to all the E-numbers and additives. I don’t care what the “filling” is, as long as the white bread rolls are deliciously limp and soggy!

Turkish delight

FavorFlav’s Sabina has suddenly become obsessed with rose-flavored Turkish delight. According to her husband Jos, it tastes like toilet freshener, but she loves it. She’s even thinking about dissolving the cubes in vodka in the dishwasher, so you get rose-infused pink vodka. An idea for you too? Do try this at home!
