12 of the most ridiculous customer orders and requests that will leave you speechless

The bizarre orders and requests that hospitality staff occasionally have thrown at them are sometimes so strange and disgusting that you can hardly believe people are actually serious. After part two of bizarre orders, we thought things couldn’t get any crazier, but apparently they can… These orders and requests are enough to make you cry (and laugh) all over again.

Fried eggs, the works
“Normally, people order fried eggs with two or three toppings, right? Not this gentleman. He wanted one with the whole shebang: ham, bacon, salmon, mushrooms, tomato and avocado. Even the chef didn’t know what hit him.”
More coffee creamer than coffee
“Someone once ordered a large coffee in the biggest glass we had, with 15 (!!!) sugar cubes and, no joke, 15 (!!!) little cups of coffee creamer!”
Baileys with ‘ice’
“As a bartender, you regularly get strange drink requests. One time, I had a young woman at the bar who ordered Baileys. When I asked whether she wanted it with or without ice, I saw her hesitate slightly, after which she replied, “Um, yes, vanilla ice cream, please.” Afterwards, we both laughed about it.” (But hello, Baileys ice cream is actually delicious, right?!)
Not done
If you thought a Hawaiian pizza was a no-go, things can always get crazier: “A pizza, please, but without sauce, just some melted cheese, raw onion and coriander.”
Mayo sandwich
“When I worked at Subway, there was a woman who wanted only mayonnaise on her bread. Okay, that’s strange, but not nearly as strange as the fact that she kept asking whether more could be added until the entire bottle was almost empty. I thought: this is a joke. Until she sat down and ate the whole sandwich covered in mayonnaise.”
Veggie Big Mac
“Someone in front of me in line at McDonald’s ordered a Big Mac, but without the burgers because she was a vegetarian…”
Curry as it should be
“I worked in a Thai restaurant where we had a customer who started a whole discussion about the curry he was served. It didn’t look anything like the one he was used to at home, so it simply couldn’t be right…”
Sliced or whole?
“When I worked at a bakery, someone asked me to put a sliced loaf back in the oven so it would become one loaf again. HOW?!”
Iced coffee that was too cold
“There was once a customer who got angry because the iced coffee was too cold… She had ordered a ‘hot iced coffee’ (?!). So we ended up heating up the iced coffee she had ordered.”
XL ice cube
Speaking of iced coffee requests: “I once remade an iced coffee because the person who ordered it thought the ice cubes were too big.”
Dry chicken
“Someone once sent back an entire half-eaten chicken because it was too dry. He wanted his money back.”
‘Do you work here?’
“At the supermarket, I helped someone choose some beer. Then she asked me to put the beer in her cart too, to which I replied, ‘Perhaps you’d better ask someone who works here,’ after which she said she was in a hurry and that it was my job to do it. Only then did I realize she thought I actually worked at the supermarket.”
