3 kitchen tips from and for very lazy people

A frequently heard excuse (although no accusation should ever precede it) for why someone doesn’t cook themselves: no time. We get it, sometimes you genuinely don’t get around to it and even boiling an egg feels like too much. But maybe these kitchen tips from and for very lazy people will be useful to you.

Because there are an incredible number of moments when taking a shortcut is genuinely a better idea than doing extensive mise-en-place or attempting to put a three-course dinner on the table. When you come home from work tired, for example, but also don’t quite feel like having a three-compartment meal from the microwave, these tips might help you get started.
Pizza plus
Check the diameter of your frying pan. It must also be ovenproof (so not with a plastic handle), preferably with a fairly high rim. Then get a frozen pizza or one from the refrigerated section of the supermarket that fits in the pan, plus all the extra toppings you like best on your pizza. Definitely extra mozzarella. Put everything on the pizza and slide it into the oven to bake according to the instructions on the package. Ta-da, a luxury pizza exactly the way you want it, customized with very little effort.
Beyond the peeling hell
Do you know what you can buy at many large Asian supermarkets? Peeled garlic cloves from the freezer. Often in large packages, but if you have the space and hate peeling garlic cloves, this can be an ideal solution.
Roast chicken
That you can make three meals from a whole chicken is of course already good news. But what if we told you that, although roasting a chicken is very easy, you can also simply get a very tasty rotisserie chicken from the poultry shop instead of dealing with the oven yourself – then that would make both the lazybones and the super-busy person in you happy, right? No shame.
