Rotterdam is packed with great lunch spots. No idea where to sit down? Here are five places where you’re guaranteed a good lunch.
PICKNICK
One of Rotterdam’s best-known lunch spots, and for good reason. Everything on the menu is delicious, but we especially love the pulled pork. Also ask for the homemade Picknick Snickers when you arrive, before they’re gone.

Warung Mini
For a Surinamese lunch, this little spot on Witte de Withstraat is absolutely perfect. We often order the roti or saoto soup, and finish with fried banana and homemade peanut sauce.
At Lola, you can not only have dinner, but also enjoy an excellent lunch with Spanish dishes. Be sure to order the Lola platter. It’s filled with their best tapas, including marinated prawns.
Vlaamsch broodhuys
This place specialises specifically in sourdough bread. The salad of radicchio, chicory and mesclun with goat’s cheese and sourdough croutons is a real winner, as is the mackerel rillette. For those of us suffering from choice paralysis, there’s always a platter full of savoury dishes to share.
