Where work is done, chips fall, to err is human, and you learn from your mistakes. Yes, that’s what you say now, but once you’ve seen these seven failed designs, you can’t help but wonder: what were those people thinking?

Apparently, the art of design began millions of years ago, when the first humans worked stones so they could be used more effectively, for example to scrape animal hides clean or make fire. Super handy and practical too, such a flint with all its points chipped off, or a razor-sharp shaft—so our ancestors were certainly no fools. You may wonder where we lost that when you see these modern examples of design fails.
