These are the 3 BEST supermarket snacks of 2021, according to snack expert Snackspert

Eke Bosman, better known as Instagram phenomenon @snackspert, ate his first frikandel as a baby, hates vlammetjes, has devoured at least 1,000 burgers in his life, suspects there is more mayonnaise in his body than blood, and shares his best and worst snack reviews on FavorFlav every other week. This time, Snackspert looks back on his snack adventures from last year—and these were the three best.

Takis chips

Haven’t bought a bunch of flowers for your fling/sweetheart/life partner/crush yet? Don’t worry, because I have something here that will bring more fire to your relationship with them than a few roses. There’s a hype that I’ve also believed in since this weekend: Takis. When I posted them to my Story, I immediately received dozens of enthusiastic responses from people who had eaten Takis abroad. And now I get it. What delicious tortilla chips. Really spicy, but not so spicy that you go outside to bury your face in the snow. And what a delicious addition the tang of lime is—not overpowering, but just enough. And seriously, these are sturdy chips. A small portion is enough to make your stomach happy. Believe me: these are some of the best chips, and all supermarkets in the Netherlands should put them on their shelves too. So Jumbo, Albert Heijn, Lidl and other major chains: you have an assignment. Complete it as soon as possible. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Old Amsterdam croquettes by Kwekkeboom

Yes, stop everything, this review is a matter of life and death, because Kwekkeboom and Old Amsterdam have fi-nal-ly turned the best supermarket snack ever into a croquette! Stop the presses! Call the newspapers! I once awarded the Kwekkeboom Old Amsterdam bitterballen 5 stars, and yes folks, I could go on about them for a very long time, but these croquettes absolutely deserve the maximum number of stars too. What a delicious coating, what an incredible and magical cheese filling. So creamy, so soft—it feels like getting a huge hug from your child, that wonderful. I’m over the moon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Like Mocro Flavour pieces by Ali B

This may be the strangest collaboration ever with the dumbest pun ever, but I was still curious about Ali B’s vegan Like Mocro Flavour pieces, which have suddenly become available everywhere. But right after the first bite, I knew for sure: this tastes fan-tas-tic. I simply have to admit it: this may well be the tastiest vegan supermarket product there is. And that’s down to the following factors: an excellent texture, deliciously tender, exceptionally well-seasoned—just a little too much cinnamon, but that’s it. I’d happily put this on a sandwich every day, with plenty of sriracha mayonnaise on top. There are Dutch celebrities who appear in terrible shampoo commercials, and apparently there are also famous Dutch people who lend their name to genuinely good brands. And Ali B managed to do just that. Nicely done. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
