Albert Heijn launches AH Overblijvers packages to combat food waste

Albert Heijn Overblijvers

Albert Heijn expects to save an additional 4.5 million kilos of food. How? With the new AH Overblijvers. Overblijvers are products left over at the end of the day that have an approaching use-by date or are being removed from the range. From today, you can reserve and purchase AH Overblijvers packages via the AH app at all Albert Heijn stores in the Netherlands.

Different AH Overblijvers packages

In the AH app, you can see which packages are available at your store. You can reserve them and pick them up at the store at the end of the day. You can choose from the following AH Overblijvers packages: Surprise, Vegetarian, Bakery (Liefde & Passie breads, donuts and bake-off breads). Brood van Gisteren and the Verspil-me-niet bag will soon also become part of the AH Overblijvers concept. The Verspil-me-niet bag will become the AH Overblijvers Fruit & Vegetable bag, and Brood van Gisteren will become AH Overblijvers Brood van Gisteren. These two Overblijvers variants cannot be reserved via the app.
