Bette Davis With Husband At Wedding

White, red, rosé or sparkling, sweet or dry, full-bodied or fresh, from Chile or France. Do you break out in a clammy sweat when you’re standing in front of the supermarket’s wine aisle? Blind panic from the stress of choosing? Wine experts Harold Hamersma and Esmee Langereis are here to help you find your way in their new podcast ‘What shall we pour today’.

In ten episodes of around ten minutes each, Harold and Esmee – known for the wine yearbook De Grote Hamersma – offer wine advice for common occasions. What do you serve at a barbecue? Which wine do you buy for a party? Which wine makes an ideal gift? Along the way, the wine experts share tips and fun wine facts. Is an expensive wine better than a cheap one? Can a screw-cap wine taste good? What does “Reserva” mean? And what does the colour of a wine say about its flavour?

Deliciously accessible

In addition, Albert Heijn’s wine buyer Maarten Vreeswijk recommends three wines from the Albert Heijn wine aisle in each episode that suit the occasion. Maarten knows the winemakers and shares interesting anecdotes about their vineyards.

So if you want to learn something about wine in a fun, quick way without having taken a wine course or having to use the difficult terminology the wine world is known for, this is the podcast for you.
